Free and Low Cost Family Day Activities in Surrey – North Delta Reporter


Surrey residents, what are you planning for Family Day weekend?

The City of Surrey has sent out a list of free and low-cost activities to help families stay active and have fun together from February 19-21.

“Residents are reminded to follow all health and safety protocols when visiting city facilities,” notes a press release from City Hall.

Here is the list :

• Skate, swim or practice gymnastic sports at Surrey’s recreational facilities. Advance registration required and space is limited.

• Family Day at Darts Hill Garden Park Saturday, February 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy a variety of family activities. Cash donations are encouraged for admission. Event activities are free with entry to the garden.

• Visit Historic Stewart Farm for entertainment all weekend from 12 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Visit the Victorian farmhouse, make crafts and enjoy a scavenger hunt.

• Entertain children with virtual activities including games, recipe ideas, crafts and learning resources.

• Explore your local neighborhood park or visit a nature trail closest to you.

• Take a self-guided walking tour of public art exhibits across the city using the Surrey arts and culture map.

• Discover the Surrey Art Gallery Art in motiona series of video art lessons using materials easily found at home.

• Player tennis or pickleball or visit a Playground from dawn until dusk.

• Find out about your family history with Surrey Libraries using one of the largest family history collections in Western Canada.

• Visit interesting exhibits at the Surrey Museum Family Day weekend (closed Mondays). Kids will love the TD Explore area which is open for pre-registered 45 minute tours with extra safety measures in place. Call 604-592-6956 to register.
